A theory was just floated on the Thom Hartmann show by a caller that Lieberman might have been promised a VP slot by Grandpa McCain, should McCain win the election.

Grandpa MacCain claims Lieberman is the only one he can caucus with.

The other question asked was: Why hasn't Lieberman become a Republican yet. What is he waiting for?

It would immediately flip the majority - what's he holding out for.

Liberty Student Arrested on Bomb Charges
May 23, 2007 12:52 AM EDT

LYNCHBURG, Va. - A Liberty University student was arrested after telling a family member he had made bombs and planned to attend the funeral of the Rev. Jerry Falwell, authorities said.

Mark David Uhl, 19, was arrested Monday night on charges of manufacturing an explosive device, Major Steve Hutcherson said. A family member notified authorities.

Officials were still trying to figure out why Uhl made the bombs and what he intended to do with them. "I do not believe it was their intent to disrupt the funeral service," Campbell County Sheriff Terry Gaddy said. "We do not believe the Falwells were ever in any danger."

The funeral proceeded Tuesday at Thomas Road Baptist Church without incident. The church on the campus of the university, which Falwell founded.

Gaddy described the five bombs as "sort of like napalm" and about the size of soda cans.

Investigators determined that Uhl had problems with a group that protested at the funeral, Gaddy said. The group, the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church, sent about a dozen members who claimed Falwell was a friend of gays to protest across the street. The group also has picketed soldiers' burials, claiming the deaths are God's punishment for a nation that harbors gays.

Falwell frequently spoke against homosexuality, and gay rights advocates have consistently opposed him. A group of Liberty University students staged a counterprotest; it wasn't clear whether Uhl was involved.

This was on Coast to Coast AM last night.

It is a worse coverup than the Walter Reade scandal. Thousands and thousands of military vets were given vaccines that are causing monstrous birth defects in their children and terrible illness in the vets themselves.

They were told by the Armed Forces not to talk about it - but they are.

OK back to basics. The American economy.

I have been hoping, waiting, praying that the American economy will turn around and turn around soon.
I'm sure many of you are with me on that regardless of your party.

Thom Hartmann says that our situation is about tarriffs and I think he makes some relevant points. He says to call your Congress person and there's alot of sense in that.

We know we got screwed over the course of years and several Presidents, Republican and Democrat with all these "free trade" agreements. It also looks like the immigration situation isn't going to be resolved in any logical, pretty or palatable way.

Our infrastructure is shot, our education system gutted, our health care third-class. American companies don't have American plants and get out of paying America's taxes. We've had our jobs outsourced and even American executives mock the quality of our labor to our faces.

Everything can be bought SUPPOSEDLY cheaper, better, less regulated elsewhere.

The stock markets that everyone watches are the ones in Asia. Now even American companies are investing their pension funds in American stock markets. So what happens in India or China affects the American investor and they probably aren't even aware of it.

So, we're hoping that the American economy will somehow turn around.

Two nights ago, on PBS The News Hour I saw a very interesting, rather shocking report on real estate development in India.

There is a bill going through Congress right now where big pharma and other entities involved are trying to take away our rights to SAFE vitamin supplements (like Vitamin C, etc.)

It is imperative, regardless of party or persuasion, that you express your outrage against this move.

We must keep access to our vitamins and supplements. A synthetic chemical drug is NOT the answer to every problem.

Vitamin C and other supplements are some of the most powerful cures known and they should not be taken from us.

Do you really think that gambling has gone down because of competition? Or maybe....people in the NY metro/NJ area are going broke. That might be the REAL reason.

I had prepared all my grocery lists. I go to about 4 different stores to get the best prices on everything. (Hey, I'm on a limited budget right now - essentially nada.)

I went into one store, looked at the price of cooking oil and couldn't contain myself "OMIGOD...the prices went UP!"

To which some lady turned around and said very loudly, "YES THEY DID! It was on the news! Everything with corn!"

And what I was buying wasn't a corn product, but it went up anyway.

I said, "Damn, this country's going broke". (a comment like this usually pushes people's buttons, but again I couldn't contain myself)

And Mrs. Suburbia replied (again loudly) - "YES WE ARE! WE'RE GOING BROKE!"

OK....

When Mrs. Suburbia agrees with me that fast, we better worry.

So the Democrats caved into George Bush's tantrums and they took out the benchmarks.

Well guess what SUCKERS???

He rejected the damn bill anyway.

I swear, any street-wise 8 year old could pull a fast one on these Dems.

What amazes me (and this is about the only thing that amazes me) is how people who WENT TO LAW SCHOOL and many actually practiced law can be hoodwinked time and time and time again by these juvenile school yard tricks.

C'mon. I was a nerd too but after a few years of getting beat up in the schoolyard, you're supposed to wise up. AREN'T YOU?
