1rst re Alice in Wonderland & C. Panda Bubba -- Then why I "seem" on the fence...

I will be updating this "page" or "fraction of a page" or whatever...throughout this day & night.

It is "semantics"!:
C. Panda Bear Bubba is speaking
beind more "literal" verbiage and & Alice is speaking in more of the
"figuative" manner, although she knows the literal definition.

Both are correct -- both are wrong, yet I cannot add my reasons and examples since I am working on other Code 3 type of issues.

One thing I will add IS Alice and L.L. were the only ones that understood me and what I was saying or I should say they said I had The Right To Speak! -- ALTHOUGH THEY BOTH AGREE MORE WITH THIS BLOG's overall view.

I LOVE Obama -- I LOVE the way he signed into litigation IMMEDIATELY to "take action" this day {earlier my morning}
I love the way he showed strength but "wearing a velvet glove".

I am working on several projects -- HE RALLIED THE TROUPS. I feel my 40 plus years {remember I started as a very young teen} are now completed. I can focus on on other issues. The forces of youth can do now The Work. I really mean that for there are ALSO Non-Human Issues -- STILL SACRED.

But But BUT he did nothing for immediate actions, to stop whale slaughter, WOLF Slaughter, and so much more.

This America now has wonderfull HOPE for HUMANITY ...
but nothing for the Wild, Wolves, and Whales, and sooo much more pertaining to the aforemention "ENDANGERED" Animals.

Stop The Horrific Slaughter Of Whales! Whale Death FactsMyspace friends: We really need your help on this issue. Please sign this petition to stop the horrific slaughter of whales. This issue is the most important thing you can do for the whales. Please take the time to read the below information and watch the video.. ( Just click on any of the pics to sign petition ) Thank You...From The Sea Shepherd Support Team...31 countries issued a protest to the Japanese Government, calling on the country to end it's scientific whaling program. But the United States of Amercia was a no show. Ask USA for their support: We will contact: The Honorable Carlos M. Gutierrez, Secretary of Commerce, 1401 Constitution Ave, NW Washington, DC 20230 and/or cgutierrez@doc.gov and Makoto Ishihara - Mr, Kunihiko Koike, and Yuji Igarashi with your vote on this petition. Nippon Suisan, Maruha and Kyokuyo are the Japanese seafood conglomerates who for the past 20 years, even after a global moratorium on the killing of whales, wholeheartedly supported the government of Japan's "scientific" whale hunt by purchasing, canning and selling whale products. 18 months ago, after letter writing efforts from supporters like you, these companies quietly divested their ownership in the Japanese whaling fleet. They now claim they are no longer responsible. These three companies owned and operated the whaling fleet when the Government of Japan announced plans to kill almost 1000 whales including 50 fin whales in an internationally recognized sanctuary, yet they now claim their hands are clean. Please urge the CEOs of these companies and their wholly-owned subsidiaries to tell the Government of Japan the world doesn't need to kill whales in the twenty-first century to study them.CLICK ON THE PIC AND SIGN THE PETITION. THANK YOU

In signing this petition, your name will be on the following letter to the individuals belowDear Honorable Carlos M. Gutierrez, Makoto Ishihara - Mr, Kunihiko Koike, and Yuji Igarashi I write to express my grave concern at your company's longstanding involvement in Japanese whaling and to respectfully request you take all possible steps to end Japan's ongoing whaling activities.
Shut Illegal Whaling Down
In response to Japan's escalating whaling program that now threatens to kill fin and humpback whales, Sea Shepherd Support Group recently sent a letter to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Carlos M.Gutierrez, asking him to initiate a process that would allow President Obama to impose trade sanctions against Japan for their large-scale whale hunting in blatant disregard for the international ban on commercial whaling. While Japan's whale hunting is allegedly conducted for scientific purposes, its whaling program is a de facto commercial operation since the meat is sold on the open market.

The United States is in a unique position among IWC member nations, because the Pelly Amendment provides the U.S. government with a legal mechanism to apply economic sanctions against offending countries like Japan. Though the United States has maintained a firm policy against all commercial and scientific whaling, the USA has failed to take a strong stand against it. Tell the USA to step up and place the Pelly Amendment in place.Modern day whaling activities give rise to serious animal welfare concerns. A number of factors inherent in current whaling practices render it unlikely that truly humane standards could ever be achieved. On grounds of animal welfare alone, therefore, all whaling operations should be halted. It is likely that whales suffer more prolonged deaths than the current data suggest, but until a scientifically proven means of determining death in cetaceans is established, individual whales may be declared dead while they are still alive. In some cases, it is possible they may even die while being winched aboard a processing vessel. It is also possible that an individual whale could be paralysed by the harpoon strike and may initiate a physiological dive response, in an attempt to escape this attack. Such an animal would then present as ‘motionless’ and not breathing.Join Sea Shepherd's Support Group Just Click This Graphic...<The methods used by Japan, Iceland and Norway for killing whales are very similar. In each case, whalers use a penthrite grenade harpoon, which is fired from a cannon mounted on the prow of a ship, as the primary killing method. The harpoon is intended to penetrate to about a foot (approx 30cm) into the whale and then detonate, creating sufficient energy to kill the whale either by the trauma or laceration, or by the generation of shock waves, causing trauma to the brain. Upon impact, spring-loaded claws are released by the harpoon and embed in the surrounding flesh when the line comes under tension. If the whalers determine that the first harpoon has not killed the whale, either a second penthrite harpoon is deployed or a rifle (of minimum calibre 9.3mm) is used. When assessing the welfare potential of whale killing methods using accepted principles of humane slaughter, it is clear that current whaling operations have a low welfare potential, and are therefore likely to cause severe pain and suffering to the hunted whales.Recent history indicates that man’s impact upon marine mammals has ranged from what might be termed malign neglect to virtual genocide. These animals including whales, porpoises, seals, sea otters, polar bears, manatees and others, have not only rarely benefited from our interest; they have been shot, blown up, clubbed to death, run down by boats, poisoned and exposed to a multitude of other indignities, all in the interest of profit or recreation, with little or no consideration of the potential impact of these activities on the animal populations involved.(US Congress 1971).

Shut Illegal Whaling Down
CONCERNS:• The adaptations of cetaceans to the marine environment may have significant implications for their welfare during whaling operations. Adaptations for diving may make it difficult to determine when these animals are dead.• The current IWC criteria for determining death in cetaceans are inadequate.• In many cases, current killing methods are not adequately adapted for the species being killed. Differences between species may greatly increase the margin for error in killing methods and may influence the time to death (TTD) and associated suffering.• There are significant differences in the efficiency reported from different hunts and even the best statistics indicate that at least 20 per cent of whales killed for commercial purposes do not die instantaneously. Furthermore, in a practical whaling situation, instantaneously is likely to equate to at least 45 minutes after the harpoon strike.• Recent data show that, for commercial and scientific whale hunts, the average estimated time to death is well over an hour.• Struck and lost whales represent a significant welfare problem. Struck and lost cetaceans may suffer significantly in both the short- and long-term as a result of exhaustion and their injuries.• Whalers attempting to achieve a fatal shot, either with a harpoon or rifle, often must do so at considerable range, and need to overcome poor visibility, rough sea states and vessel motion. The accuracy of the gunner (or marksmanship) will also impact on the ability to kill a cetacean swiftly.• The exertion imposed on whales during pursuit may fall outside the species’ adaptive range. Pursuit during whaling activities has the potential to induce stress, which may manifest as a series of lethal and sub-lethal pathologies. The effects of pursuit may also be significant for cetaceans that are struck and eventually killed as well as for those that evade capture. We are the #1 support team for the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is the most aggressive and most successful Whale-Saving organization in the world. Saving whales is what the SSCS do best and what they are most noted for. The approach has been simple and straight forward. In 1977, Sea Shepherd was established by Captain Paul Watson as an organization to intervene and uphold international conservation regulations protecting marine wildlife. We do not protest whaling - we oppose illegal whaling activities. Our opposition are criminals engaged in illegal behavior.Welcome AboardJoin Sea Shepherd's Support Group Just Click This Graphic...

VICTORY!
Belugas Win -- Thanks to Online Activists Like You

Dear Druid Morrigan,

We just got life-saving news for the last 375 beluga whales of Alaska's Cook Inlet.

The National Marine Fisheries Service has decided to place these imperiled whales -- one of the smallest populations of marine mammals left on the planet -- on the endangered species list.

It's a huge win for beluga whales, whose population has plummeted due to the industrialization of Alaska's most populated and fastest-growing waterway.

And it's a huge win for the NRDC Action Fund. More than 118,000 online activists like you sent messages to the Bush Administration demanding protection for the whales.

Our messages accounted for some two-thirds of all 180,000 comments received! This outpouring of national pressure put the White House on notice that the American people expect swift action to save beluga whales from extinction.

But the Bush Administration still dragged its feet. That's why our partner organization, NRDC, and 10 other conservation groups filed suit and put a halt to the administration’s delays.

The beluga's newly won protection will help scientists deal with the many dangers now facing the whales: oil and gas exploration, increased pollution, and plans for massive new projects that could endanger the whales' survival.

We will hold the government's feet to the fire and make sure that habitat protections are put in place under the Endangered Species Act, while there is still time to save the belugas of Cook Inlet.

Meanwhile, I want to thank you for standing up in defense of Alaska's most vulnerable whales. We'll be sure to keep you informed as soon as there are new developments.

Sincerely,
Frances
Frances Beinecke
President

My belief is that finding the culprit should not be as difficult as it sounds with there being so many matching that description. The unusual thing about him was that he had a dachshund on a leash. Around here at least, people matching that description with a dog like that, are rare. The St. Petersburg Police, however, don't appear that interested in apprehending the killer despite the fact the next victim could be a child or an adult, as animal abuse is well known as a gateway crime to crimes against people. This lack of interest is a black mark against our city, St Petersburg, Florida. There could be an opportunity to highlight this, especially as the eyes of the US sporting public turn toward us, with our team, the Rays, to play in this year's baseball World Series.Do we want the cops to go knocking on the door of everyone who has a dachshund? No. Just that all 500 officers be made aware of the combination. It is not hard to remember. Young black guy with dachshund. They are driving through neighborhoods every day. One of them will see the man and his dog.The web site is www. WhoKilledAmy. com We have a flyer there that you can print off to distribute. There is also a petition there that you can print, and have people sign urging our City’s leaders to finish the job on this case. The State of Florida made this a felony punishable by up to five years in prison for a reason. For people both inside and outside the St Petersburg area, you can show support by joining the Facebook or MySpace groups that have been set up recently. The Facebook group is at : http://www. facebook. com/inbox/#/group. php?gid=19860849636 You don't have to be a Facebook member to join. The MySpace Group is at: http://groups. myspace. com/CatchACatKiller Please forward this email on to your friends, colleagues and acquaintances who may be lovers of animals or lovers of justice. I can’t promise you that you will win the lottery, or something amazing will happen before midnight if you do. But, by forwarding it may just want to stop the next victim, animal or human, from being hurt. If you know people of influence in the area or if you have contacts in the media, please let them know of your concerns. There is a reward of up to $4500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer. We thank you for your support. If you can offer any other assistance, material or otherwise, we welcome it.RegardsPaul Gilchrist"
