been an interesting day for me.

lots of peeps dropping in to visit, a successful carfix in for the day, same with troubleshooting another.

the maron interview in seattle was a good one.

Laura's next to the last weekday show is up next.

and i have the most delicious carrot cake in the universe in the kitchen!

Not so much for me

One of those "I'm in trouble and I have no clue why" days...So screw you and your carrot cake

Cest le vie

I was born sticky...

Think you can frighten me?

hmmmm......

i'm not saying, but, have you ever considered how ubiquotous google is?

i installed some new security software on my system and was surprised to find that google desktop was reaching out and touching someone back at google corporate when i shut my system down.

now we all know that google is freedoms friend. look how strongly they opposed turning over search records when the government asked them to. now consider that they came out of nowhere, they have billions of dollars behind them, they have server farms that rival the nsa, they have taken data mining to a new level, and some of the sharpest minds in the land work for them.

suppose for an instant that google is an nsa black project, hiding right under our noses. the protest on turning over search records would be an ideal cover.

nah. gotta go, there's a black helicopter circling the house...

woot woot

my life is going all to hell at the moment

pls send pos vibes my way!!!!!!

so what's the most recent kerfuffle?

My 2 cents on AAR 2.0

The ball was definitely dropped with Sam and Laura. That ROF was extended to 3 and Bender as added is a good move. The marketplace will do to the 9a.m. to noon fiasco that it did to all the Clear Channel affliates who dropped AAR and went back to the rightwingspinmachine. Their numbers dropped faster than a motar into the Green Zone.

Moving to the center is not viable strategy in the 21st century. Has AAR put Rahm Emmanuel on the board??

Why was Sam's ratings so low? on the 9-12 time

Bender is on Air Americans now with Riley, et al.

Should be interesting. Too bad I don't listen to AAR anymore...except on Sundays or secondhand via Rachel on KPHX or the Quake.

Bender is gone, right?

According to http://ltradio.blogspot.com/2007/05/air-america-20-but-will-it-float.htm..., Bender's show is gone, but he will be one of several co-hosts on "The Air Americans." This show, anchored by Mark Riley, will include the hosts of Ring of Fire. I am listening to Radio Nation as I write this and Laura mentioned sometime ago that she is still negotiation with management regarding her participation. Her tone left a lot to the imagination.

The snarktabulous LeatherPenguin

why was Sam's ratings so low? They weren't.

They weren't. First off, the decision was made to can Sam before his first full book came out. In New York, he had the highest gain of any time slot on the net. His 24-55 numbers increased by mid three digits. His ratings were on par with the rest of the net. His streaming numbers were double those of Springer's

The problem was clearance. Miller took all of Springers affiliates. Sam had gained affiliates though and my understanding is that Lionel now has LESS affiliates than Sam had when he was booted. Lionel may gain more, though, honestly, I don't know where he could.

Iraq is on the verge of collapse: report

Lord I feel bad for those People

This could be interesting!!

Giuliani’s “sketchy” activities. From the New Republic’s latest cover story:

[A]ccording to Kerik’s former girlfriend, the book publisher Judith Regan, this friendship could come back to haunt Giuliani’s campaign. She told one of my tnr colleagues that Kerik and Giuliani would frequently discuss “sketchy” activities in her presence “as if I weren’t there.” Regan told my colleague that she would reveal the contents of the conversations in the event that Giuliani’s presidential campaign took off. (Of course, Regan has her own scandal-ridden past. But she also has enough p.r. acumen and notoriety to win an audience for her accusations.)

Bernie Kerik, Giuliani’s close longtime business and political partner, is likely to soon face charges for “several felonies, including tax evasion and conspiracy to commit wiretapping.”

Death toll for Iraq contractors reaches new high. “Casualties among private contractors in Iraq have soared to record levels this year, setting a pace that seems certain to turn 2007 into the bloodiest year yet for the civilians who work alongside the American military in the war zone, according to new government numbers.” At least 146 were killed in the first three months of the year, the highest since the war began.

Re: Why was Sam's ratings so low

What makes you say it was low? Do you have evidence of this? I think I heard Janeane (perhaps Sam also) mention on MRR that they were doing relatively well in their time slot vs. conservative talk. Al told Sam that he was the future of Air America. If Sam's morning show did not do well, it would be because of a lack of promotion on AA's part.

Re: "The Air Americans"

Something tells me that this show is the final go-round for these hosts.

It reminds me very much of "According to Jim's" launch. Saturday Night Live mocked it and its similar to shows as "Last Chance Wednesdays" or something because apparently industry insiders believed that it was Belushi and a few other failed comedians' last opportunity.

Bush's Latest Last Gasp

The Immigration Issue is Bush's Latest Last Gasp. He (or, more accurately, Cheney) has failed miserably in every other quarter. The Presidential push is on for something, anything, that can be historically cited as a positive in the "legacy" column.

Unfortunately for Bush, the Immigration Issue is among the last that he would have tackled given an otherwise successful tenure in office.

The Absolute Conservatives hate "illegal" immigration, which is ironic and humorous in that the warm, albeit illegal, brown bodies serve their agenda of corporations über alles.

The Absolute Conservatives comprise a sizable portion of the twenty-eight percent who continue to sit around the dwindling fires of the Bush camp...not a group that you would want to alienate if you were rocketing downward as the worst president ever.

Daddy and Barbara Bush have their "little brown ones" who were conceived of mostly White and mostly Brown parentage. Dubya has his "little brown ones" that emerge from his ass.

Two of my arguments for leaving the ANWR oil fields unexploited are thus: "1.) It is money in the bank as fuel for future generations. 2.) Some kind of extra-important, long-chain molecular discovery might come to pass in the future requiring petroleum as the feed stock."

A corrupt, merciless and capitalistic version of my argument would be thus: "Why pump and transport and refine petroleum at full capacity now, while we could pump and transport and refine petroleum at half capacity now but at twice the price?"

It ain't rocket science. In its infancy, a product abundantly supplied equals tremendous profits. After dependence on the product is established, reduced supply equals tremendous profits.

Reduced supply requires significant control of supply. Iraq is assumed (projected, guessed) to have huge reserves. Any one group that controls those reserves also wields global political power.

Bush Admin Designs World's Largest, Most Expensive Embassy For Iraq
AP | ANNE GEARAN | May 19, 2007 02:10 PM

The new U.S. Embassy in Baghdad will be the world's largest and most expensive foreign mission, though it may not be large enough or secure enough to cope with the chaos in
Iraq.

The Bush administration designed the 104-acre compound -- set to open in September in what today is a war zone -- to be an ultra-secure enclave. Yet it also hoped that downtown Baghdad would cease being a battleground when diplomats moved in.

Wolf vs. Wolfe

By: Nicole Belle @ 1:03 PM - PDT A few weeks ago, I linked to Naomi Wolf's article in the Guardian listing why she believes we are sliding further and further into fascism.

Obviously, there are some who will dispute that (and I believe we saw that on our comments as well) and the Guardian saw some tremendous feedback, so they invited Naomi Wolf back to debate Boston College professor Alan Wolfe on truly how fascist the country is becoming. McCain drops one again, this time to the GOP

F-Bombs: They’re Not Just For Dick Cheney Anymore
By: Logan Murphy @ 9:04 AM - PDT Via The Washington Post:

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) hasn't spent much time in the Capitol this year as he seeks the GOP presidential nomination. But one of his rare appearances this week provided a pretty salty exchange with a fellow Republican.

During a meeting Thursday on immigration legislation, McCain and Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) got into a shouting match when Cornyn started voicing concerns about the number of judicial appeals that illegal immigrants could receive, according to multiple sources — both Democrats and Republicans — who heard firsthand accounts of the exchange from lawmakers who were in the room.

McCain, a former Navy pilot, then used language more accustomed to sailors (not to mention the current vice president, who made news a few years back after a verbal encounter with Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont).

"[Expletive] you! I know more about this than anyone else in the room," shouted McCain at Cornyn. McCain helped craft a bill in 2006 that passed the Senate but couldn't be compromised with a House bill that was much tougher on illegal immigrants.

Could it be that the rigors of a floundering Presidential campain are getting to Senator McCain? As the article states, he hasn't been spending much time in DC these days, and it seems Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid isn't too happy about it.

Crank Bait,

What you describe seems eerily familiar to the modus operandi of the smart drug dealer for the past 30 or so years. Get 'em sold on your product, as it were, then reduce supply to create this perception of scarcity and increase demand.

All the while the money rolls in.

Nice work, I suppose, if you can get it.

Your analogy is apt though I can't remember knowing a smart drug dealer. They tended to increase their own demand for their supply, resulting in reduced profits.

...but they threw great parties.

WITH the death on Tuesday of the Rev. Jerry Falwell, the Baptist minister and founder of the Moral Majority, and the announcement on Thursday that Paul D. Wolfowitz would resign from the presidency of the World Bank, two major figures in the modern conservative movement exited the political stage. To many, this is the latest evidence that the conservative movement, which has dominated politics during the last quarter century, is finished.

NYT's Rich looks at Reverend Falwell and the right

RAW STORY
Published: Saturday May 19, 2007

Having gone from one of the most admired men in American to what many Christians and conservatives consider “an embarrassing and laughingstock,” Reverend Jerry Fallwell’s death “could not have had grander symbolic importance,” writes Frank Rich in his New York Times Sunday column.

Blowing a hole in the "WE DON'T HAVE THE VOTES" excuse
We've heard the "WE DON'T HAVE THE VOTES" excuse used many times when it comes to the impeachment issue...

Well - Congress may have the votes to pass an Iraq Occupation funding bill with benchmarks/deadlines attached but they don't have the votes to override a veto - YET they continue to pass various versions of bill knowing this

Why aren't they whining they don't have the votes to override a veto? The blatherhead take on it is the Dems are making a political point - be it that bush doesn't listen, bush doesn't face reality or whatever...

Well doesn't bringing up impeachment (votes or not) do the same thing? It would make a political point, it would bring it into the national dialog/debate...

We the people voted for change back in November...if we don't see some MAJOR changes real soon, we'll be throwing them all out and making some big changes in Nov '08

working class Westchester

How many working-class poor, minorities, Latinos, currently live in Mystic Point, Eagle Bay, Hudson View, Scarborough Manor? How many will be able to afford to buy a unit at Harbor Square or Hunter-James or Hidden Cove? Or for that matter, how many of us who currently own homes will be able to sell our homes and afford to buy one of these new upscale units?

And why is it that none of the condo developments built in Ossining over the past 20 years have stabilized the tax base or kept the downtown from deteriorating? Why is Harbor Square the miracle cure?

WCW

There is no working class Westchester, Everyone is rich there. Tax base shaky? Move to another town. You can afford it.

home is where the Heartsdale is

But there’s also work that the Clinton Foundation could do. While I was in my local Barnes and Noble in Hartsdale (which is where you’ll find me until I find my next political/non-profit employment after just coming off a campaign), I also happened to come across the latest Z Magazine issue. In that issue there is a paper talking about Anarchitecture which is the anti-developer/gentrification movement going on in building these days.

Right now we are letting developers run roughshod over cities, villages and towns. In my county of Westchester you have people like Cappelli and Trump building luxury housing as they squeeze out the middle class and the poor. Don’t get me wrong, some of what these two have built are great (i.e. the White Plains City Center), but of course to them there’s no money to be made in affordable housing. So it’s up to the local and federal governments to step in, buy land and property to create the truly affordable housing units, or it’s up to non-profits, NGO’s and even unions to do the same. We can look at what the AFL-CIO is doing in New Orleans as a positive example in that regard.

Paul Wolfowitz’s departure from the World Bank signals the end of an ideological era in Washington

As Tony Blair was bidding farewell to President George W Bush in the Rose Garden on Thursday, the World Bank was preparing to kick out Paul Wolfowitz as president. Allies to the left and right in the Iraq war were falling by the wayside that day.

Was he responsible for Blair’s departure from office, Bush was asked. There had to be a reason why a prime minister who had never lost an election was being dumped. “Could be . . . I don’t know,” the president mused above the distant chant of war protesters outside the White House gates.

And what did he make of Wolfowitz’s likely resignation? “I respect him a lot and I’m sorry it has come to this,” Bush said, leaving the World Bank head to his fate.

If Bush and Dick Cheney, his vice-president, are the last men standing with responsibility for the Iraq war it is only because they are protected by their four-year terms of office. One former Bush stalwart told me: “If we had a parliamentary system, Bush would have lost a vote of confidence and have resigned by now.”

Away from the Rose Garden the funeral cortege for the fundamentalist Rev Jerry Falwell was being assembled in the heart of Bush country in Lynchburg, Virginia. The portly 73-year-old televangelist had done his utmost to assemble the coalition of conservative Christians that went on to provide Bush with two presidential victories. Now he is dead and the government sustained by his followers is looking more and more like a corpse.

The writer Christopher Hitchens, a friend of Wolfowitz and foe of Falwell, says: “The main noise in Washington right now is that of collapsing scenery. The Republican party is in total disarray. They’ve been dropping their most intelligent people over the side while the presidential candidates are all outbidding each other to be nice about the revolting carcass of Falwell.”

Wolfowitz, the cerebral neocon, and Falwell, the braying theocon, had nothing in common personally. Indeed, Falwell blamed “the pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians” for provoking the 9/11 attacks, an explanation uncomfortably close to the views of the Taliban. But the unlikely alliance between their two movements provided the brains and the brawn behind Bush. Now the neocons have been ousted, one by one, from their positions of influence and trust while the Republican party base is desperately thrashing around for a successor to Bush that it can back in 2008.

The cleavage between the two marks the end of an era in which Bible Belt conservatives became the surprise champions of radical nation-building in the Middle East in the hope of crushing terrorism and halting the march of militant Islam. After Bush, such reforming zeal is unlikely to be repeated.

Civilian deaths prompt Nato rethink

Growing number of Afghan casualties in anti-Taliban operations turns population against their 'liberators'
By Chris Sands in Kabul
Published: 20 May 2007
Nato has promised to review its military tactics in Afghanistan, amid warnings from senior Afghan politicians that the growing number of civilian deaths in operations against the Taliban risks provoking a major backlash.

General John Craddock, Nato's supreme commander, said in Washington that the alliance understands that civilian casualties cost it credibility among local people. "Every time that happens, someone walks away, an Afghan citizen, with a bad feeling towards either Nato or the United States," he said.

Last week Nato officials were celebrating the death in a firefight of Mullah Dadullah, the Taliban's most feared and reviled military commander, whose body was shown off to journalists in Kandahar. But members of Afghanistan's parliament said many civilians were being killed during clashes with insurgents, particularly in air strikes. They are calling for a ceasefire and negotiations with insurgent groups, including the Taliban.

Khalid Farooqi, an MP once closely allied with Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, a notorious Afghan warlord who has thrown in his lot with the Taliban, said: "If they bomb a whole village just to get one insurgent, they will create more enemies for themselves. And once the people stand against them, it will be very hard to control the situation." As bloodshed has increased this spring - yesterday three German soldiers and four Afghans died in a suicide bombing in the northern province of Kunduz - scores of civilians have been killed by Nato and American forces.

The governor of Helmand province, where the majority of British troops in Afghanistan are based, said at least 21 civilians, including women and children, died earlier this month in an air strike called in by US special forces during a battle with militants in the province.

Assessments Made in 2003 Foretold Situation in Iraq

Intelligence Studies List Internal Violence, Terrorist Activity

By Walter Pincus
Washington Post Staff Writer
Sunday, May 20, 2007; Page A06

Two intelligence assessments from January 2003 predicted that the overthrow of Saddam Hussein and subsequent U.S. occupation of Iraq could lead to internal violence and provide a boost to Islamic extremists and terrorists in the region, according to congressional sources and former intelligence officials familiar with the prewar studies.

The two assessments, titled "Principal Challenges in Post-Saddam Iraq" and "Regional Consequences of Regime Change in Iraq," were produced by the National Intelligence Council (NIC) and will be a major part of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence's long-awaited Phase II report on prewar intelligence assessments about Iraq. The assessments were delivered to the White House and to congressional intelligence committees before the war started.

U.S. Pays Pakistan to Fight Terror, but Patrols Ebb

WASHINGTON, May 19 — The United States is continuing to make large payments of roughly $1 billion a year to Pakistan for what it calls reimbursements to the country’s military for conducting counterterrorism efforts along the border with Afghanistan, even though Pakistan’s president decided eight months ago to slash patrols through the area where Al Qaeda and Taliban fighters are most active.

The monthly payments, called coalition support funds, are not widely advertised. Buried in public budget numbers, the payments are intended to reimburse Pakistan’s military for the cost of the operations. So far, Pakistan has received more than $5.6 billion under the program over five years, more than half of the total aid the United States has sent to the country since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, not counting covert funds.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/20/world/asia/20pakistan.html?ex=13373136...

So it's not the coalition of the willing, it's the coalition of the paid!! And we borrow money from China and Japan to pay for this?

From the Cleveland Scene

The elf sleeps in
Last week the Associated Press, hoping to definitively cast away the mainstream media's reputation of worthlessness, asked each of the 2008 presidential candidates about an issue of pressing national import: their sleeping habits. Specifically, the AP wanted to know how late in the morning politicos would have to wake up in order to consider it "sleeping in."

Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, Bill Richardson, and the rest all gave suitably early replies like 7 a.m., to remind us how incredibly dedicated they are. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee even boasts that he's usually up by 4:30 a.m., when most of us are still trying to find our car after the bars close.

Meanwhile, local elf Dennis Kucinich likes to crash till 8:30. On good days, he and the missus enjoy getting up for brunch, then going back to bed till 4:30 p.m., according to Mrs. Elf.

That comes as good news to you, fair citizen. The more quality time Kucinich devotes to life between the sheets, the fewer hours he has to annoy the country.

There are some interesting tidbits in Robert Novak's latest column. For example, there are some rumors that Mark Warner will not run for John Warner's Senate seat because he wants to remain available as a vice-presidential pick if Hillary Clinton wins the nomination. A Clinton-Warner ticket would be quite formidable. I'd be very disappointed in that kind of New Democratic ticket but it would stand a good chance at turning the clock back to 2001.
Novak also reveals:

Speculation in Washington legal circles is that President Bush has been reluctant to get rid of Gonzales for fear that Senate Democrats would not confirm his successor without a commitment to name a special prosecutor in the U.S. attorneys case.
Well...duh. That's a no-brainer.

Meanwhile, Eugene Robinson does a nice job of recounting the Don Corleone incident with Andy Card, Alberto Gonzales, and John Ashcroft's hospital bed. Then he concludes:

This is the attorney general of the United States, ladies and gentlemen. Heaven help us.

John Dickerson is still an idiot. He thinks Democrats are stupid to shun Fox News because:

They're missing a chance to look confident and full of conviction in front of tough questioning.

Right. Like it makes you look strong to get asked when you stopped beating your wife. Please. I agree with Dickerson about Ron Paul, however. And it is hilarious to see Michelle Malkin mocking Paul because he doesn't believe the Warren Commission was a shining example of government sunshine. Need I remind everyone that Allan Dulles was a member of that commission? BTW- Another piece of that crappy report got called into serious question this week.

In challenging the evidence for the lone-gunman theory, Cliff Spiegelman, professor of statistics at Texas A&M and an expert in bullet-lead analysis, recently teamed with former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent and forensic scientist William A. Tobin of Forensic Engineering International in Virginia and William D. James, a research chemist with the Texas A&M Center for Chemical Characterization and Analysis (CCCA). Together, they conducted a chemical and forensic analysis of bullets reportedly derived from the same batch as those used by suspected assassin Lee Harvey Oswald to gun down Kennedy on that fateful day at Dealey Plaza. Their findings, which show that evidence used to rule out a second assassin is fundamentally flawed, will be published in a forthcoming edition of "Annals of Applied Statistics." The paper currently is available online at http://www.imstat.org/aoas/next_issue.html.

Multi-page viewing of comments is diabled. But you can view the first 90 (very suspiciously pro Green and Lionel) and the last 90 (very aptly anti Green and Lionel) People are pissed at Fucko Green's continued dissing of Sam by not including his show anywhere in the AAR lineup.

This is absolutely a deliberate coup attempt of Sam's debut today.

For all you "AAR is a business and this was a business decision" corporate sycophants out there and for all the lurking assholes (you too Green) simpering about ratings, ratings, ratings, WHEN was the last time you saw any "network" not even mention the debut of a new show??!?! Not even on the day of its launch!

We're pulling for you Sammy. These assholes can't tear this thing down. They are practically beggin you to make examples of them.

Six soldiers killed by Baghdad bomb
by Joe Sudbay (DC) · 5/20/2007 10:18:00 AM ET

Brutal. Just brutal. And wrong. Just wrong:
Six U.S. soldiers and an interpreter were killed by a roadside bomb in western Baghdad on Saturday, the U.S. military said in a statement on Sunday.

How much longer will this madness continue?

What is going on?

AAR is going to be Mark Green's baby and whatever the loyal fans think will not be considered. I was disappointed when "Morning Sedition" and Mike Malloy were canned. Despite numerous protests and petitions these two shows were not reinstated. I liked "Majority Report" and was happy that at least they put Sam Seder on everday in the AM. Laura Flanders on the weekend is great radio, but now she is being relegated to a four-way or something co-hosting assignment on the Air Americans. These shows I thought had a strong listening audience as well as many people posting online as the shows were being aired. I still do not know if Sam's show will be on the NYC AAR station WWRL.

AAR home page

Doris

Hi everyone,
I just was looking at the AAR home page. Under where it says "highlights" they have clips from various shows. One clip was from Randi Rhodes but the other was from Marc Maron! Can you believe the balls of these people? Using his clips to promote the "new" AAR when they fired him twice???
I have to go back and make sure I wasn't seeing things...

Here's a riddle.

Q: What do conservatives do when one of their own gets investigated for corruption?

A: They promote him!

Promoted

AAR is PSY OPS!

Maybe AAR was set up by evil right wingers like Wm. Mellon Scaife. Maybe they have made all these stupid mistakes ON PURPOSE, insuring that the network would fail and liberality would be made once again to look weak and stupid. It's not beyond the possibility that is what is happening!

SECRET TRADE DEAL:

Moyers Special Airs, Rangel Attacks Dems, Bush "Drafting Final Language"

On the same day PBS aired Bill Moyers hard-hitting piece on the secret free trade deal, the network also aired an interview with a frustrated Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel (D-NY), who lashed out at the growing opposition to the deal from rank-and-file Democratic lawmakers and millions of workers, farmers and small businesses. Meanwhile, an industry newsletter breaks the news that at least one senior Democrat involved in the secret deal admits that Democrats have delegated responsibility for drafting the final legislative language of the deal entirely to the Bush White House.

I don't want my English major wife to spit in my salad tonight for exhibiting such stupidity on line. LOL!

Why is Sam not on AAR page?

How do they manage to be so incompetent? I am convinsed they are working with the Bush Crime Family- Does AAR now have a contract with FEMA? I am not happy. I listened to Sam every morning. The show helped me get out of bed and get ready for work. Now I listen to music in the morning.

I really want

AAR Needs Advertisers Right?

We should take up a collection buy Nova M a banner ad on the AAR site. I doubt the incompetents running tha show would even notice.

Time for AAR competition

I think it's time for another startup liberal radio network to put AAR out of business. I'm pretty sure Randy Rhodes & Thom Hartmann would come over - Randi didn't sound pleased whatsoever with AAR's new direction.

Based on the lack of AAR pub for Sam's show...

Will the stream mysteriously go down during his broadcast? I remember Sam would bring down that stream w/the flood of his listeners anyway. It looks like the Seattle station previously listed will have his show streaming today, so that's a place to keep in mind should something "go wrong" with AAR's stream during Sam's Sunday debut.

So goes the fuck fest

...and I indicated as much with my entry on the Daily Kos and on my blog, Under The LobsterScope this morning. Why not have them all join up with Sheldon Drobny's Nova M?

We've already heard Sam and Malloy there... that was great!

Sam: Please play this Maron clip re: Falwell on your debut show

Hi Sam,

So glad to be able to hear you today...it's about time!

On your debut show, would you consider playing this clip from Morning Sedition in 2005? It's classic Maron, and is such a fitting send-off for the good Rev. Falwell. When this clip was originally posted on the AAR website, it had this description: "When Marc heard that Jerry Falwell was stricken with a viral infection, he delivered a special prayer for the Reverend."

The clip is 2-1/2 minutes long:

Immunity is Contagious

This one crept up on me...from Beelzebub himself, no less! Anyone else know anything about this Ralston character? I've been wondering, myself, just how effective this immunity thing is going to be for Congress. What exactly does immunity guarantee? And, if they don't deliver the goods, are they still immune? I guess the ball is in the court of the Congress members to ask smart questions.

You should see their website.

They answer the question pretty well, though...Both!

"We’ll begin the Museum experience by showing that “facts” don’t speak for themselves. There aren’t separate sets of “evidences” for evolution and creation—we all deal with the same evidence (we all live on the same earth, have the same fossils, observe the same animals, etc.). The difference lies in how we interpret what we study. We’ll then explore why the Bible—the “history book of the universe”—provides a reliable, eye-witness account of the beginning of all things."

Eye-witness? Who is that? God? Nuff said.
