Randi Rhodes GONE from Air America

    John Scott speaks out on the Return of Randi Rhodes

    UPDATE: John Scott, Program Director of Green960, speaks out:

    "We have been very frustrated the past few days in our efforts to rectify the Randi Rhodes Situation (her suspension by her network, Air America Radio). It is our understanding that today (April 9th) she is no longer an employee of Air America. So we are bringing her back."

    Monday, April 14th at 4pm... it will be our pleasure to announce the return of Randi Rhodes to the Green 960 family.

This was the station who was hosting the event where she made the alleged obscene remarks. Thank you Green 960 and I hope Nova M will think about picking up her show.

It was AAR that made the big deal out of Randi's statements.

It was AAR that put the whole thing in the Main Steam Media.

Why? Lower Payroll!

AAR saw a chance to downsize and grabbed it.

The New AAR Management is drawing a new bottom line.

Although I don't think it is as cynical as pot would have it. With Randi, she probably saw an opportunity to bolt from AAR, and did so. But in other cases we are so familiar with, Morning Sedition, Malloy, and other changes, Riley's termination, for sure. it probably had a lot to do with economics, more than incompetence and bumbling by the suits--although there is plenty of that, I am sure.

To me, AAR has a quality that the other competitors--especially Jones--do not have. Constantly creating new shows, innovation. Too bad market and political forces weigh in so much.

No.. Please elaborate. (I wish I could get a copy of Sam and Janeane's show on WFMU, from 2003.)
