MENTAL RADIO
I
If you were born as long as fifty years ago, you can remember a time when the test of a sound, common-sense mind was refusing to fool with "new-fangled notions." Without exactly putting it into a formula, people took it for granted that truth was known and familiar, and anything that was not known and familiar was nonsense. In my boyhood, the funniest joke in the world was a "flying machine man"; and when my mother took up a notion about "germs" getting into you and making you sick, my father made it a theme for no end of domestic wit. Even as late as twenty years ago, when I wanted to write a play based on the idea that men might some day be able to make a human voice audible to groups of people all over America, my friends assured me that I could not interest the public in such a fantastic notion.
Among the objects of scorn, in my boyhood, was what we called "superstition"; and we made the term include, not merely the notion that the number thirteen brought you bad luck; not merely a belief in witches, ghosts and goblins, but also a belief in any strange phenomena of the mind which we did not understand. We knew about hypnotism, because we had seen stage performances, and were in the midst of reading a naughty book called "Trilby"; but such things as trance mediumship, automatic writing, table-tapping, telekinesis, telepathy and clairvoyance—we didn't know these long names, but if such ideas were explained to us, we knew right away that it was "all nonsense."

Matter is continually created, but no particular object is in itself continuous. There is not, for example, one physical object that deteriorates with age. There are instead continuous creations of psychic energy into a physical pattern that appears to hold a more or less rigid appearance.

Pure Land
This is a short book about the Pure Land Sect of Buddhism, specifically the Japanese Jodo Shinshui sect. It includes an historical account of the group, starting with the founder, Shinran Shonin, a 10th century CE Japanese monk. There are descriptions of the sacred texts of the group, as well as their theology, a doctrine of salvation through devotion to Amida, 'the leader of all the Buddhas' (Amitabha in Sanskrit). Pure Land is a very popular school of Buddhism, both in Japan and throughout East Asia.

Anais Nin
How apt a voice ( Miller's) for the elegaic epigraph for Anais here!
Thanks.
"Does it matter?"
These simple remarks will themselves be the basis for further rather involved discussions, as the mechanisms that are set into motion in such mental or psychic manipulation of matter have never really been explained. Remember however that such psychic manipulation of matter is the normal occurrence. It is however usually operating at subconscious levels, and without either knowledge or intent as far as the conscious mind is concerned. To be able to bring these natural but subconscious forces at all under any domination by the conscious mind is a terrific task. Such domination will never be habitual, but conscious awareness of subconscious manipulation of matter may become habitual, and may often of its own accord follow the desires of the conscious mind, if certain conditions are met. First of all, the conscious desires must be in league with, and unopposed by, subconscious expectations. Two, sufficient emotional impetus must be discharged, and this will be on or from subconscious levels. And three, communication between the conscious and subconscious, or the inner and so-called outer parts of the whole self, must be excellent.

That great Buddhist monk used the English language phrase "Pure land." When you hear his sympathetic human voice in your heart, the invocation of "land" may be very helpful, especially when life's circumstances have hurled you down again to the ground.

Good Evening!
C2C is on. I need to run to the store BBL.
That Palin/Abbatoir footage is disgusting. I a; down with those who want to smash those animal auschwitzes to pieces, and liberate the inmates.
You're in a waterfront hotel room?!
I'm so jealous...
-the lucky barnacle anchored to her breast for now-
I smell a pome...
It is just past 10...I am doing everything I know how to do to stay up past misnight..I DESERVE IT...working is grueling punishment!

I saw men stomping turkey heads yesterday
The kitty that my co worker found in the street did not make it to this morning...
There's no fucking way I want to see this palin turkey vid...I do not have a psyche of steel....
Did someone mention turkey bacon..? I'll take two!
I cried on the bunny slope the two times I tried to snow ski
so I don't know about the technicalities of ski into a tree doom...
but I do doubt one could get a serious back wound from a tree-in...and I also never saw the death report..so who knows...? It's not like we need Sonny to tell us the CIA is sinister...he'd be made out to be a Kucinich anyway...and you know..no one cares what Kucinich says..at least not enough to make him the one sane democratic candidate...

Hi Alice,...
Hi, Seth.

What's new SR...I admit that I didn't look clearly at your Open Mic with the End of Experts story..was that from that satirical NY Times? I just heard about that site on a podcast of a KPFK show by Jon Wiener...
--It's so good it is so beautiful--
Life Is Beautiful.
Did you see that movie? Speaking of thinking positively...
Merde!
I was just finishing a reply to Leah about the the pitiable emptiness of the lack of honor and invitation shown by the workers while they fed the big birds into those woodchipper ("abbatoire") things. For me it was silent: luckily no Sarah P voic -, which perhaps made it more disturbing, like Eisentadt's Battleship Potemkin.
See ya reall soon, Leah

not much is new
I'm quite amazed at how the global financial fiasco runs in direct contrast with the Law of Abundance.
And, I'm even more surprised that despite my lug-headedness, I'm able to detect a consistent balance of all things in the universe, ... and can almost sense the "trickster" that is mentioned in some esoteric writings.
Like the trickster is pulling the strings...
-
As per "The End of Experts" article, which mocked the doublespeak of Thomas Friedman (similar to what Sam Seder did in his book, FUBAR), it was from the NYT spoof newspaper "Special Edition."
And as a policy, in my efforts to gain knowledge, I try not to pay attention to Thomas Friedman, nor Christopher Hitchens. (But, since the "fake" paper was making fun of this discredited "so-called expert," I made an exception and read it. And, the satire was spot on, just like Sam's was.)
Anyway. It was funny. It probably could've been more positive.
-
What are you up to, Alice?
-Merde!-
that's a bad word!
(heh)
"misnight"
Like that - reading back after twice erring with fucked-up keystrokes.
Probably consigning that one to the seething unconscious - which is coming up fast to embrace us here.

T&A
How so?
-global financial fiasco runs in direct contrast with the Law of Abundance.-
If money is energy then why do seeming assholes have all the money and the control over the money?
Oh I remember..the law of abundance doesn't judge right from
wrong...
if you know and practice the law...
They (the govt) have made so many perverted references to that 'law' that I KNOW they KNOW it...probably better than I do...this is maybe why all these subverted activities in govt and religion get over on people so easily...they know it...
-Anyway. It was funny. It probably could've been more positive.-
omg please..did you see how far and wide that obama-zombies the onion story has been?
I think it's lackful thinking...
That dominates most people's consciousness & then manifests itself as reality.
Most likely this is a result of media, technology, ... & the accidental and intentional fear it magnifies into everyone's lives. This is why I am not a fan of Descartes.
It's each person for themselves in a big, bad world.
-
But, everything could change on a dime.
One big, collective realization & it's a brand new world.
And, I believe that's what's in store for the brave, loving citizens of the world.
I believe the frog is climbing out of the well, finally; but, alas it's hard to gain traction with webbed feet, sometimes. :)
In a world where love buys food maybe...
-And, I believe that's what's in store for the brave, loving citizens of the world.-
If it's an expanding universe...
...then there's always enough for everyone.
And, even enough extra for those who feel they need extra.
The problem is there is a distribution problem.
This could be resolved by reigning in the "greedheads," in theory,...
But supposedly, people as individuals could open up all the channels themselves by shifting from lackful thinking...to abundant thinking, as well.
For the most part, I believe that lackful thinking happens unconsciously in most people (including me), and that this is where everyone can potentially wake up the sleeping giant.
Or if they suddenly KNOW they can live on a grain of rice
bi-annually...
If there is enough for everyone..which subscribe too as well
then it all is exactly where it's supposed to be...
Do you see the issue here?
As long as we live in a
sys†em where a few dominate, we will feel insecure.
What is a sudden realization? People organizing into councils
and out to take power collectively.
Until then, we will rotate around the so-called conservative/liberal orb.
Humanity won't be happy...
One temporary solution
I will be voting for Obama, but he was Not The Answer. The Masses are demanding their weaknesses, again; THUS, Obama is THE ONLY ONE for Now (but way better than ToxicBush-ick). BUT OBAMA IS FOR NUCLEAR Power & COAL -- PLZ Do Not Forget that. AND WE, The People, NEED to go in A DIFFERENT direction, for THE FUTURE! Hopefully, The DEMS will come out in masses…and also DEMAND POSITIVE ACTIONS from Obama.
I don't know, Leah...
there's a huge fluxuation for me between 'it's all good' and 'fight the power...'
Bono
also never saw the death report..so who knows...? It's not like we need Sonny to tell us the CIA is sinister...
==
Do you remember specifically what Bono specifically discovered that he was going to blow the whistle on?
You know, in our 2-party system, sometimes it is relatively moderate Republicans that can provide space for criticism. Look at the 1990s, and Clinton's attack on Serbia, It was Republicans (and Kucinich!) who protested. American politics are dominated by financial concerns. This somehow results in utter hypocrisy. Still we have to have something to go on. UNTIL the BIG Revolution!
Yeah hopefully..but why will it make and diff if it didn't with
the Tard?

I thought it was a specific sort of thing.
It's the CA Republicans who are trying to stop the BS vet tax
that arnie wants...
Republicans I say...
If I had to pay an extra sales tax on the 5,000 per year max I have paid in vet bills..there is a lot of OTHER things I could not do with my energy (cash).
I think that everyone just needs...
To use their imagination more.
I think the physicist, James Jeans, once said that "the universe in one giant thought."
-
Even as I may be the world's slowest learner, I believe that the sooner and more we all love, the sooner and more the universe will shower us all with abundance.
It's already there for us all, just waiting for us to claim it.
On a personal level, I haven't quite figured out how to do this as successfully as I would like to have yet, but I truly expect to soon.
-
To some, this sounds insensitive to the plight of the less fortunate, by saying, "Don't worry, be happy." But, it's always humankind's thinking which holds them back.
However, I believe that there is an evolution in mind taking place, and things are improving greatly for everybody, now; even as it would appear to be that the exact opposite is taking place.
Most of us are being fooled by appearances.
Me, for sure.
A lot. And often.
Or at least that's what it seems to me right now as I'm typing this.
Yes it was in that movie..documentary?
like I said...never heard of this until the AFP story..and I read it all..and it was about a movie about the CIA he was 10 days away from bringing up on the floor..
Until there is
democratic participation in economic decisions, we will continue to get these sorts of political psychoses. Best thing to do is get other like-minded people and organize. One thing Nader did was to get a small number of young people to work on his campaign. Some are continuing his work.
Nobody used to kick my ass for thinking like that...
--To some, this sounds insensitive to the plight of the less fortunate, by saying, "Don't worry, be happy."--
I'm not sure that if I and you had never posted a political story here, and only posted Seth and Abraham's [insert your own favorite person with relatable words here]..quotes and we discussed our personal beliefs here..that it wouldn't be exactly as it is now government wise...(I wish I could see my probable paths when I want to.. :)
Quick Bite
"Ted Gunderson believes that the reason Sonny Bono was the target of an assassination was because he was about to link top international government officials to drug and weapons dealers. Investigator Bob Fletcher * said he sent evidence of a 10 year study to Congressman Sonny Bono bout the links. He sent the study less than 1 month before Bono died."
Don't even say organize to me
this tiny group of us can't seem to be organized..jenise is the only person to have brought us together in more than two's physically wise..and we aren't even close virtually wise on this blog...but for virtual petitions (email collectors) and write your asshole congress persons..and the success I remember is Sinclair broadcasting...

To find the balance between those two worlds is what snags me, too, Alice.
On occasion, Esther Hicks has been known to rant about politics & stupid greedheads,...when she wasn't channeling Abraham.
But, then she'd rember that whole "resistance," cutting yourself off from "Source," thing,...
Is drugs and weapons dealing all that new to government?
what's laughable is that they kill to keep a non secret a "secret"
that it wouldn't be exactly as it is now government wise
I'm not sure what it is exactly now, Alice.
But, if you switch the words "now" and "wise" in the phase above, you get "wise government now."
The Field Center's main contention is that people get hung up a lot of the time because of their need to conclude something. They undermine a lot of their success by concluding things too early. The secret of interacting with the Field is in not coming to too many conclusions.
(when everything's like a Seth continuum...)
Who likes beer
here?
As for Ted Gunderson...
...and that whole story,... I try not to read too much about it anymore. Bono could've been a victim. I think Hunter Thompson was too. Gonzo was about to write something. That's a black hole of negativity. There's a hundred other bad stories that branch off of that one, or into it, or whatever... Sherman Skolnick's reports had a lot of stuff in them.
I don't like beer, Leah...
I love it.
-"wise government now."-
well if the people are allegedly in control of the government..then what? Fluidity..ok I understand that...here's a thing
"It is perfectly fine to make plans for the future, yet each individual should live day by day, without worrying about the outcome of those plans, the physical body can only react in the present moment. Worrying about future events, or dwelling upon past unfavorable situations, only confuses the body’s mechanisms, and undermines their precise activity in the present moment. February 1, 1984, p.81, The Way Toward Health
I like A beer..but it makes me too plump for my taste..
so I employ that whole moderation bullshit for the sake of vanity...
The restaurant where I
work sometimes gave me some bottles of hefeweissen and amber ale.
I prefer fine lager--like Iron City or Urquelle.
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale..
Speaking of pale..the Johnny Winter Group is playing soon around here...heard that this morning....
I got a few bottles of Flat
I got a few bottles of Flat Tire Amber Ale. Too sugary. I do like to drink Bock Beer.

additional power
I do think it is important and helpful for people to find ways to be of service and help to the world. Everybody has their own unique abilities. And, I think it's an innate spiritual desire within everyone, regardless of whether they are aware of it or not.
But, there's also this untapped psychic potential within everyone, which potentially offers limitless possibilities to affect positive change in the world, as well.
And, possibly on a more profound level than just physical exertion & expenditure of one's time.
I think the reality creating potential of using one's imagination is still vastly underappreciated and underemphasized in our culture.

...but you try to tell anyone that "matter" can be transformed with sound or thought... ok?
Sonny
Law officials, Sonny Bono's family, and Eminem were all satisfied with the story that the Congressman and ex-Cher consort died after colliding with a tree while skiing in 1998. But according to former FBI agent Ted Gunderson, Bono may have been beat to death by "ruthless assassins" to keep him from releasing information that linked government officials to weapons dealers. Law & Order, Francis Ford Coppola—somebody get on this!
[Gunderson] says, "It's nonsense for anyone to now try to suggest that Bono died after crashing into a tree. There's zero evidence in this autopsy report... to show such an accident happened. Instead, there's powerful proof he (Bono) was assassinated. This was an evil plot that was carried out to almost perfection by ruthless assassins."
...Gunderson's efforts have been backed by top forensics experts, who fear Nevada authorities were too quick to mark the tragedy as a skiing accident, and investigator Bob Fletcher, who has confessed he sent evidence of a 10-year study that linked top U.S. government officials to arms and weapons dealers to Bono less than a month before his death.
Fletcher says, "He was going to make it his number one priority... There's no doubt in my mind Sonny was murdered by someone who needed him silenced."
==
Things do happen where the evidence does not all add up, but the truth can be discerned. I have heard that this happens in murder trials all of the time.
Conspiracy theories:
I usually keep an open mind on conspiracy theories, but tend to go with the official truth--until the real truth leaks out. People tend to come forward, if the truth has not been told. If Bono's injuries were not caused by skiing into a tree, but rather by gun butts and clubs, and people come forward, then... Did people see Bono crash into the tree? If so, ...
Okay, Alice...

I don't mind telling people. I don't expect to convince them, though. ...which is fine.
Their rational mind doesn't buy it. Neither does mine.
That is why I am trying keep my rational mind out of it.
I find it to be very unhelpful in this endeavor.
Besides, it's not some kind of original idea I made up.
It was actually a quite popular belief in the early 1900s in America.

Sierra Nevada Pale for sure.
I'd drink Racer 5 or Lagunitus IPA if available. Lagunitus has been bottling limited edition Frank Zappa/Mothers beers. I am kind of stuck in the ale/IPA.
BTW, I will be having my TG ***key up the street from the Moss Beach Distillery. Now if I can just forget that AK chipper scene.
Also, Sonny Bono carried the water for the entertainment industry so Mickey Mouse would not enter the public domain.
LIBER CLVII
CHAPTER LVII
THE TRUE INFLUENCE.
1. One may govern a state by restriction; weapons may be used with skill and cunning; but one acquireth true command only by freedom, given and taken.
2. How am I aware of this? By experience that to multiply restrictive laws in the kingdom impoverisheth the people; the use of machines causeth disorder in state and race alike. The more men use skill and cunning, the more machines there are; and the more laws there are, the more felons there are.
3. A wise man has said this: I will refrain from doing, and the people will act rightly of their own accord; I will love Silence, and the people will instinctively turn to perfection; I will take no measures, and the people will enjoy true wealth; I will restrain ambition, and the people will attain simplicity. {63}

Leah, I am not sure where you are but if there is Lagunitas of any kind at your TJ's, you're lucky. I remember the Iron City cans with the Steelers on them.

Iron City
Found myself in Pittsburgh working in a steel mill
And I was a southern girl who's husband didn't see
He pulled the night shift I worked the day shift
And it came too easy for us to play the game
They could call us the Pittsburgh stealers
Stealing happiness and cheatin' anytime we can
We both know the score but we run back for more
And tonight the Pittsburgh stealers play again
No one will ever find us with a night of love behind us
On a back street in Pittsburgh time after time
Just touch and go loving running from pattern
And every time we meet we leave it all wrong tonight
They could call us the Pittsburgh stealers...
And tonight the Pittsburgh stealers play again

The Third Clinton Administration
Changing With Retreads
The Third Clinton Administration
By RALPH NADER
While the liberal intelligentsia was swooning over Barack Obama during his presidential campaign, I counseled “prepare to be disappointed.” His record as a Illinois state and U.S. Senator, together with the many progressive and long overdue courses of action he opposed during his campaign, rendered such a prediction unfortunate but obvious.
Now this same intelligentsia is beginning to howl over Obama’s transition team and early choices to run his Administration. Having defeated Senator Hillary Clinton in the Democratic Primaries, he now is busily installing Bill Clinton’s old guard. Thirty one out of forty seven people that he has named so far for transition or appointments have ties to the Clinton Administration, according to Politico. One Clintonite is quoted in the Washington Post as saying – “This isn’t lightly flavored with Clintons. This is all Clintons, all the time.”
Obama’s “foreign policy team is now dominated by the Hawkish, old-guard Democrats of the 1990,” writes Jeremy Scahill. Obama’s transition team reviewing intelligence agencies and recommending appointments is headed by John Brennan and Jami Miscik, who worked under George Tenet when the CIA was involved in politicizing intelligence for, among other officials, Secretary of State Colin Powell’s erroneous address before the United Nations calling for war against Iraq.

This is change? 20 Hawks, Neocons and
Clintonites in the Obama Administration
Jeremy Scahill
U.S. policy is not about one individual, and no matter how much faith people place in President-elect Barack Obama, the policies he enacts will be fruit of a tree with many roots. Among them: his personal politics and views, the disastrous realities his administration will inherit, and, of course, unpredictable future crises. But the best immediate indicator of what an Obama administration might look like can be found in the people he surrounds himself with and who he appoints to his Cabinet. And, frankly, when it comes to foreign policy, it is not looking good.
Obama has a momentous opportunity to do what he repeatedly promised over the course of his campaign: bring actual change. But the more we learn about who Obama is considering for top positions in his administration, the more his inner circle resembles a staff reunion of President Bill Clinton's White House. Although Obama brought some progressives on board early in his campaign, his foreign policy team is now dominated by the hawkish, old-guard Democrats of the 1990s. This has been particularly true since Hillary Clinton conceded defeat in the Democratic primary, freeing many of her top advisors to join Obama's team.
"What happened to all this talk about change?" a member of the Clinton foreign policy team recently asked the Washington Post. "This isn't lightly flavored with Clintons. This is all Clintons, all the time."
Amid the euphoria over Obama's election and the end of the Bush era, it is critical to recall what 1990s U.S. foreign policy actually looked like. Bill Clinton's boiled down to a one-two punch from the hidden hand of the free market, backed up by the iron fist of U.S. militarism. Clinton took office and almost immediately bombed Iraq (ostensibly in retaliation for an alleged plot by Saddam Hussein to assassinate former President George H.W. Bush). He presided over a ruthless regime of economic sanctions that killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, and under the guise of the so-called No-Fly Zones in northern and southern Iraq, authorized the longest sustained U.S. bombing campaign since Vietnam.

It's What Republicans Do
Story Number One: It's an amazingly close election
The Franken-Coleman election is freakishly close. The first semi-official report showed a spread of 700 votes out of 2.9 million (less than three hundredths of a percent). One of my imaginary internet friends has calculated that flipping 2.9 million coins would come up with a heads-tails difference bigger than that 90% of the time. Un coup de des jamais n'abolira le hasard, they say, but apparently the disseminated intelligence of Minnesota has succeeded in defeating the law of averages.
And the gap has been narrowing. The first official report (before the recount) reduced the spread to a little over 200 votes, and the recount so far has reduced the spread still further. It's quite possible that when the dust settles, the difference will be fewer than 100 votes one way or the other. (My imaginary friend hasn't done the math on that one yet.)

The nature of matter itself is not understood. You perceive it at a certain "stage." Using your terms now and speaking as simply as possible, there are other forms of matter beyond those you see. These forms are quite real and vivid, quite "physical," to those who react to that particular sphere of activity.
In terms of probabilities, therefore, you choose certain acts, unconsciously transform these into physical events or objects, and then perceive them. But those unchosen events also go out from you and are projected into these other forms. Now the behavior of atoms and molecules is involved here, for again these are only present within your universe during certain stages. Their activity is perceived only during the range of particular vibratory rhythms. When your scientists examine them for example, they do not examine the nature, say, of an atom. They only explore the characteristics of an atom as it acts or shows itself within your system. Its greater reality completely escapes them.
You understand that there are spectrums of light. So are there spectrums of matter. Your system of physical reality is not dense in comparison with some others. The dimensions that you give to physical matter barely begin to hint at the varieties of dimensions possible.
Some systems are far heavier or lighter than your own, though this may not involve weight in the terms with which you are familiar. Probable actions emerge, then, into matter-systems quite as valid as your own, and quite as consistent. You are used to thinking in single-line thoughts, so you think of events that you know as complete things or actions, not realizing that what you perceive is but a fraction of their entire multidimensional existence.
In greater terms, it is impossible to separate one physical event from the probable events, for these are all dimensions of one action. It is basically impossible to separate the "you" that you know from the probable you's of which you are unaware, for the same reasons. There are always inner pathways, however, leading between probable events; since all of them are manifestations of an act in its becoming, then the dimensions between these are illusions.
The physical brain alone cannot pick up these connections with any great success. The mind, which is the inner counterpart of the brain, can at times perceive the far greater dimensions of any given event through a burst of sudden intuition or comprehension that cannot be adequately described on a verbal level.
As I have said frequently, time as you think of it does not exist, yet in your terms, time's true nature could be understood if the basic nature of the atom was ever made known to you. In one way, an atom could be compared to a microsecond."
