CURRENT MOON

Dana Milbanks has a video up on Washington Post regarding the Alberto Gonzales hearing that has him in such hot water right now.  He did a great job of describing the hours of hearings in less than 7 minutes.    There's also a sweet little article in MSNBC about Elston the FIFTH Justice official to leave.  He was the chief of staff to Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty.  You remember McNulty, right?  He was resignation number 4 and Justice Dept.'s No. 2 guy.  It doesn't look good.  HERE is Wapo bout all that shiznit.  But you can just listen to a vid at toniD's place that makes more sense.

But it's not the first time the Justice department has problems with understanding how to act.  Monica Goodling was the Director of Public Affairs.  I think she was the first to quit because of the firings, or rather Gonzalez's subpoena.

She also told us about Tim Griffin and the caging lists.  Greg Palast did a nice write up on that.

TPM and toniD have been real good about keeping us up with this as well.  You can find this gem there too, helium voice himself.  When he quit as the head of the Civil Rights Division, all people of color should have cheered.   He is now accused of replacing minority women with the "Right Americans", who coincidently were white Christian men.

Schlozman also said that he sought approval from a top aide to Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty before bringing the indictments. He said McNulty's chief of staff, Michael Elston, told him someone would get back to him shortly. Elston again is the guy who just quit.

Now I don't know what we will find out this week but I know there are hearings coming.  I will have to remember popcorn when at the store tomorrow just in case we get another one of these.

so easy allie. I'll add more to this post as I find stuff. The story is so damn complicated it makes my head spin. I'm trying not to concentrate on all the minutia and concentrate on the collapsing guilty moments.

I'm happy you liked it. Aim to please you know.

i'll stay tuned

you are becoming a great source of info and putting it together.

good stuff, Fernando

Notice

how quickly I stole your link to your page Sir Real. That's the best way I know of to get to a member here. It would be good to make that a two column page for people to leave contact info.

I'm rancholaluna at bluebottle.com . But I don't check it everyday on account of the spam.

Excellent

Fernando,

I really enjoyed your party the other night. I will save this to savor later.

Nice work!

Pickled Peach Cheney

Ingredients
8 pounds small, firm-ripe peaches -Clingstone if you can find them
1 gallon cold water mixed with 2 tablespoons pickling salt and 2 tablespoons of white vinegar
2 tablespoons whole cloves

Basic Pickling Syrup
1 quart white vinegar
1 quart water
3 pounds sugar
4 sticks cinnamon, broken and tied in cheesecloth

Instructions

Skin the peaches, then hold them under water-salt-vinegar mixture to prevent discoloration; leave whole or halve but do not remove pits, do not kill or mutilate the peach. Now you can impale each peach with 2 cloves. Put syrup ingredients in a large enamel or stainless-steel kettle and bring to a threatening boil. Throw the peaches in, but only a few at a time, enjoy them screaming, simmer them, uncovered, 5-7 minutes until barely tender. Remove peaches with a slotted spoon and set aside while cooking the rest.

When all are cooked, bring syrup to a boil and pour over peaches again. Scalding them like this; covered overnight, plumps peach's corpse and gives them better flavor.

On the next day, wash and sterilize 10 (1-pint) jars and their closures, draw security detainment wires across top of jar . At the same time, drain syrup from peaches and bring to a boil; discard spice bag. Pack peaches into hot jars, then pour in boiling syrup, filling to within 1/4-inch of the top. Wipe rims, and seal. Process in a hot water bath 10 minutes. Remove jars from bath and secure seals if necessary. Cool, check seals, label, and store in a cool, dark, dry place 4-6 weeks in solitary confinement before serving. They are now ready to talk and will tell you anything you want to hear.
Yield: 10 pints (64 servings)
